About The Blog... and Us
Just doing our thing...
The blog first started in the winter of 2008 (during the financial crisis and 'bear market') when two young friends decided to take some time out to see more of the world, going to the lesser known areas and looking deeper.
That journey took us more than a year with more border crossings than we care to remember. The amazing experiences and photos built up and we enjoyed being able to share these with friends old and new along the way, but this was in the "olden days" before Instagram was invented.
Years later, we're married and have children (still figuring out Instagram, and the children love hearing about the olden days). We still spend time on "the roads less travelled", and now share this excitement and exploration first hand with our young travellers.
We don't consider ourselves "influencers" and we don't look to monetise social media or traffic. We just travel for ourselves and enjoy sharing what we find with other interested readers.... no other hidden agendas!
